In the early hours of the morning, a young architecture student in his twenties, donning a vibrant pink coat, was discovered beaten to death near the vicinity of a civil union support party, heralding the imminent arrival of same-sex marriage legislation in Italy. Amidst the scene, flanked by a diverse yet proficient team of officers, arrives the unflappable deputy police chief Paolo Nigra on his sleek Guzzi motorbike.
