Princess Ellie lives with her mother, the queen, in an ice palace in the sky. Her mother oversees the production of snowflakes and, under her rule, they are all perfectly identical. One day, she leaves Ellie in charge of the palace, but she breaks the machine. Ellie makes all of the snowflakes by hand with help from her bird friends. When the queen returns, Ellie expects her to be mad, but she is impressed with the beautiful snowflakes Ellie made and from then on they make snowflakes together.
