2014
Books
The project focused on women who migrated to the UK from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka. They shared their memories of travelling from their homelands & adapting to their new life, the difficulties they faced in settling & the contributions they and their families made to their new home country. The aim was to spark memories & reminiscences from the first-generation migrants that will give younger generations - either those born in the UK or who came as children - an idea of life 'back home' & later in the UK, creating cultural transmission across the generations.
